Pastor Adeboye Addresses Viral AI Image Showing Him as an Alhaji

In a recent development, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has responded to an AI-generated image that went viral, depicting him as an Alhaji. The photo, which surfaced online in late December 2024, showed Pastor Adeboye dressed in Islamic attire and participating in prayers in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

During the first Holy Ghost Night of 2025, held in the early hours of January 4, Pastor Adeboye acknowledged the image with a touch of humour. “I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an Alhaji,” he remarked, drawing laughter from the congregation. Despite the light-hearted approach, he made it clear that the image was a product of artificial intelligence and did not reflect reality.

The image sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing surprise and amusement at the portrayal of the respected Christian leader in Islamic garments. Pastor Adeboye used the opportunity to caution against spreading falsehoods and mockery, warning that such actions could have serious consequences.

In his message titled “The Glory Ahead,” Pastor Adeboye also addressed global issues, urging prayers for peace amid escalating conflicts worldwide. He prophesied an unprecedented earthquake in 2025 and reassured his audience of a brighter future, emphasizing that God’s purpose for humanity remains unchanged.

The incident serves as a reminder of the potential for AI-generated content to be misused or misunderstood, highlighting the importance of verifying information before sharing it online.
