The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries dedicates six regions in Ogun State

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries was founded by Daniel Kolawole Olukoya at a prayer meeting in 1989 in his living room. The prayer group purchased a large site at an abandoned slum near the University of Lagos and converted it into the International Headquarters of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, of which Olukoya is the General Overseer. The first service there was on 24 April 1994. At the new location, worshippers and those seeking help kept coming, leading to a very large congregation. This situation posed a challenge to crowd, growth and expansion management to the leadership of the church. Thus, MFM created a network of branches in every state capital, local government headquarters, senatorial district and locality. The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, a Pentecostal denomination founded in Yaba, Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria in 1989,  with churches in several countries and now six regions have been dedicated in Ogun State. The General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr Daniel Olukoya, on Wednesday, dedicated six regions of the church in the Sango-Ota axis of Ogun State. The first region to be dedicated by Dr Daniel Olukoya on that day was the South West Region 19 located in Ijoko while the Overseer’s entourage then proceeded to the Tent Makers Pastoral Ministry, Region 10, Owode-Ota. The clergyman was welcomed in both regions by a large crowd of worshippers and neighbours who thronged the arena to listen and catch a glimpse of the general overseer. The third region dedicated by Olukoya was the South-West Region 93, Iyana-Ilogbo, where the regional overseer built a hall alongside the auditorium. Another Tent Makers Pastoral Ministry, Region 30, Sango-Ota, was the next port of call and the region was built single-handedly by the regional overseer, Pastor Janet Oluwadaunsi, popularly known as Mama. Olukoya also dedicated the South-West 22, Iyesi-Ota, before concluding his journey at the Mega Regional headquarters, where his presence drew the largest crowd. Unlike a few popular charismatic and Pentecostal African initiated ministries promoting prosperity gospel, MFM’s leadership and its sub-ministry, Battle Cry Ministries, place emphasis on deliverance ministry and prayers against the works of demonic forces. It teaches members about dealing with ancestral spirits and the existence of hidden evil and spiritual forces against progress toward the fulfilment of one’s “destiny”, resulting in theology that promotes practices dominated by prayer points to free individuals from that hidden bondage.
